New CT and MRI scanners at Ipswich Hospital
As part of the UTC and ED big builds there will be a new CT scanner (funded by the Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity (Opens in a new window) ) included that is part of a separate £3.2million investment.
There is also a new MRI scanner which is now in place in the Diagnostic Imaging department at Ipswich Hospital.
CT and MRI scanners are used for different types of investigations by our diagnostic colleagues. They help our clinical teams make decisions on what is the best course of treatment for our patients. These additional scanners will allow our patients to be seen quicker when required by the diagnostics team.
