Working at the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre

Job vacancies and opportunities at our new orthopaedic centre

ESNEFT’s state of the art centre for planned orthopaedic surgery will open in Colchester in August 2024 and will be one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe.

With eight new theatres and more than 70 beds we aim to operate on more than 10,000 patients every year. As the centre is dedicated solely to planned care, operations won’t be affected by demand in our main hospital meaning they are less likely to be postponed.

The centre will bring together the skills and expertise of staff in one place for some of our most common procedures such as hip and knee replacements. By pooling our expertise, we will reduce waiting times, develop and maintain specialist surgery, and train the surgical professionals of the future. In addition, purpose-built x-ray and physiotherapy facilities will support patient recovery and a swift discharge.
