Enhanced pay
Enhanced pay is offered for those roles which are required to work during unsocial hours. Unsocial hours payments are made for any work carried out between 8pm-6am Monday to Friday and at all times on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
Annual leave
Employees receive an annual leave entitlement of 27 days on commencement of NHS service. This increases to 29 days after five years service and to 33 days after 10 years service. Bank Holiday days are in addition to your yearly annual leave entitlement. If you join us from another NHS organisation, your accrued leave entitlement will be transferred to your new role. Employees are able to purchase some additional leave days.
Work and life balance
We offer a comprehensive range of leave schemes including maternity, family and adoption leave which provide benefits in addition to the statutory schemes.
We have a range of options to help employees’ work life balance. This includes flexible working, part time working, annualised hours and term time contracts. For those that need a more concentrated period away from the workplace a career break scheme is also available.
Nannas on the Colchester site and Hunnitots on the Ipswich site are both OFSTED registered nurseries for children 0-5 years old. A holiday club for children aged 5-9 is also available.
We offer salary sacrifice schemes which provide our employees with the opportunity to make savings on the costs of bicycles, lease cars and car parking fees. The schemes enable employees to save on tax, pensions and NI contributions and spread the cost. Schemes are open to all employees unless the deduction takes their salary below the minimum wage.
