I have worked in the Cancer department at Colchester Hospital since 2010, subspecialized in management of breast cancer, head and neck cancer and thyroid cancer.
I am also involved in recruiting patients into cancer clinical trials. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Glasgow. I received my post graduate oncology training (2003-2009) at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Northern Centre for Cancer Care, James Cook Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

I completed my Clinical Oncology training in Glasgow in 2007 and since then I have been working as a Consultant Oncologist. I moved to Colchester in September 2016. I have a major interest in non-surgical therapy for Urology and Gynaecological cancers.
I currently lead the state of the art radiotherapy department at Colchester and lead the Cancer Delivery Group as Clinical Director to ensure safe, effective and timely delivery of best patient care.

I joined Colchester Hospital as a Consultant Oncologist in 2013. I graduated from medical school in 2003 with distinction and undertook specialist training in Clinical Oncology at Cambridge. I completed my MSc in Oncology from the Institute of Cancer Research, London with distinction in 2010 and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2010.
After my fellowship, I completed two years of clinical research at Cambridge Breast Unit from 2011-2013 looking at the use of advance radiotherapy techniques including Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) and Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT).
My clinical and research interest is in the field of breast cancer, malignant melanoma and Immunotherapy. I have presented and published numerous papers at prestigious international scientific meetings and journals and I am principal investigator for several clinical trials at Colchester.
I am part of the teaching faculty for Royal College of Radiologist and Royal College of Surgeon and an educational supervisor for GP trainees.

I have worked in the Trust since 2011. I manage lung cancer, mesothelioma, prostate, bladder and kidney cancers. I worked in the East Midlands for five years before joining Colchester Hospital.


Christopher Scrase

I am a practising clinician with extensive publications in my field and a large portfolio of clinical trials. I teach on national courses in my main areas of expertise including in Cambridge, Norwich and Nottingham. In addition, I also have wide-ranging experience in clinical leadership roles both within my host Trust and the broader NHS and beyond.
I am Trust Cancer Lead Clinician and Lead Clinician for my department of oncology. I was formally Chairman of a Business Unit and Divisional Clinical Director. I have chaired the Anglia/Eastern Cancer Research Executive since its inception, overseeing the implementation of the Anglia Cancer Research Strategy and I am a member of the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer Radiation Oncology Group.
I have commissioning experience through my host Trust and through membership of one of the National Commissioning Board Clinical Reference Group, and I am the secondary care doctor on the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG Governing Body.

I have been a Consultant oncologist at Ipswich Hospital since 2009. My main sites of interest are breast cancer and urological malignancies (prostate, bladder, renal and testes).
I am Trust Lead for Cancer Research and Clinical Lead for Radiotherapy.

I qualified from Imperial College London in 2002. Having completed junior medical posts in London and the West Midlands, I began my specialist training in clinical oncology in Northern Ireland and the East of England in 2006.
I passed my exam for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2009, and went on to complete a clinical research fellowship in Mount Vernon Hospital, supported by the Prostate Cancer Charity. I was appointed Consultant at Ipswich Hospital in 2014.
My research interest is in the impact of radiation on the tumour micro-environment, in particular the use of hypoxic modifiers and immune check point modulators in conjunction with radiotherapy. In my clinical practice, I look after patients with lung, brain, head and neck, and skin cancers.
