Older people’s services consultants

I have worked in the Trust since 2009. I run a Parkinson’s clinic at both Colchester and Clacton hospital. I work closely with the Parkinson’s nurses to help provide holistic care to patients in hospital as well as the community.

I am also interested in developing frailty pathways for elderly patients to provide prompt comprehensive assessment of frail elderly patients and safe discharge to the patient’s own home.

I have been working at Ipswich Hospital since December 2016. Prior to that I worked as Consultant Physician and Geriatrician at Colchester Hospital for 6 years.

I cover a large variety of medical conditions and conditions specific for older people like falls, frailty, confusion, multiple coexisting medical conditions and poly pharmacy (too many drugs).

I completed specialist training in the East of England and rotated through Ipswich Hospital, Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

In addition to complex ward based management of Older People at Ipswich Hospital, I cover community hospital at Felixstowe and Bluebird Lodge to support patients’ medical management while they rehabilitate. I also do Frailty and Movement disorders/ Parkinson’s disease clinics at Felixtowe. I love clinical problem solving and simplifying drug treatment for my older patients.

I graduated from Leicester Medical School in 2006. I completed my specialty training in Geriatric Medicine on the North Central London Deanery taking a sabbatical at Bankstown Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

Since starting as a consultant at Ipswich hospital in 2016 I have developed an interest in movement disorders and run regular outpatient clinics at Stowmarket and Ipswich Hospital, alongside working with inpatients on the Constable Suite. I have an interest in medical education and through my role as Royal College Tutor for medicine endeavour to ensure trainees at Ipswich receive a high standard of medical training.

I have been a consultant at Ipswich since 2005. I am the consultant orthogeriatrician, providing care for older people admitted with fragility fractures with my orthopaedic colleagues. I provide osteoporosis assessment and follow up for these patients.

I work in the Frailty clinic on Tuesdays working with the team to provide Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment to older people living with frailty or having recurrent falls. I also run the tilt table service. I am the educational supervisor for the specialist trainees in geriatric medicine.

I graduated from Liverpool Medical School. I took up speciality training in Acute Medicine in the London Deanery for four years as a registrar. This developed my passion in the care of the older person.

I completed my second speciality training in geriatric medicine in the eastern region. I joined the team at Ipswich in 2018 as a consultant in geriatric and general internal medicine.

I currently work as a consultant on Woodbridge Ward, a short stay older people’s ward. I also have a session with the frailty hospital at home team where we aim to deliver care for frail vulnerable adults in their own homes, trying to avoid lengthy hospital admissions. I work a session in the frailty clinic with our frailty team where we carry out comprehensive geriatric assessment.

I have an interest in acute interface geriatrics; my passion lies in trying to ensure our patients are cared for in the right place and trying to avoid unnecessary lengthy hospital stays and promoting the ethos of our patients living well with frailty. I have a keen interest in end-of-life care. I also have a role in morbidity and mortality for the trust.

I am a specialist in movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease, providing comprehensive geriatric assessment of older people at the hospital and in the community. I work with GPs, community based nurses and therapists in the Ipswich area and provide patient’s home visits when required.

My research interests are vascular and lewy body dementia. I am the adult safeguarding lead at the Ipswich Hospital, specialising in medico-legal aspects of patient’s care.

I have worked for the Trust since 2013. I specialise in Geriatric Medicine. I trained in Yorkshire and the East of England.

I have been a Consultant since June 1989. I specialise in GI Endoscopy.

I have worked for the Trust since August 1998.

I joined the consultant team at Ipswich hospital in 2013 after completing my specialist training in geriatric and general internal medicine.

I currently work on the Constable suite at Ipswich Hospital focusing on holistic care of the older person and have a special interest in delirium and dementia. A proportion of my time is also based at Aldeburgh community hospital both on the inpatient ward and outpatient clinic.

I am a member of the Parkinson’s team and remain passionate about supporting people to live well.

I have been a Consultant Geriatrician at Ipswich Hospital since 2025. I graduated from University College London in 2015 and worked in the East of England and Devon before returning to East Anglia for my specialist training.

I have an interest in the acute care of older patients and providing a holistic outlook from the outset of care. I am passionate about delivering high quality end of life care.

I work on Woodbridge ward and in the front door frailty service. I enjoy teaching and completed a medical education fellowship during my specialist training.

I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2015 and worked in South Yorkshire before moving to the East of England to complete my specialist training in Geriatric and General Internal Medicine. I joined the Consultant team at Ipswich Hospital in 2025 having previously worked here as a registrar.

I currently work on Haughley Ward, complete clinics within the Frailty Assessment Base and weekly sessions at Aldeburgh Hospital. I have an interest in care of older adults with complex medical needs, comprehensive geriatric assessments and community-based care.

I joined the Trust in 2024 and work primarily within Hospital @ Home as part of REACT (Reactive Emergency Assessment Community Team) where I am involved in developing admission avoidance capability for our older population. I also care for patients undergoing rehabilitation at Bluebird Lodge Community Hospital. I intermittently work on the acute wards within Older People’s Services in Ipswich Hospital.

I am dual accredited in General Internal Medicine and am part of the acute medicine consultant on-call team at Ipswich Hospital.

I have a passion for medicine for older people, with a particular focus on admission avoidance and advance care planning.
