Staying in hospital when you have diabetes

Being an inpatient at Ipswich Hospital when you have Diabetes

As a diabetes patient, we will support you if you are admitted to Ipswich Hospital for a range of health issues.

We try to reduce the stress that staying in hospital can bring, by offering a service that centres around you.

If you come into hospital with a diabetes-related issue, we can start you on medicine or insulin. We can also provide education and general diabetes reviews.

If you are having surgery, the surgical diabetes specialist nurse supports you.

Our team educate other hospital staff about diabetes care, including nurses, doctors and other staff who may treat you. We support them with any queries that arise during your stay in hospital.
