MyChart patient app

MyChart Overview

MyChart is a free app to download that gives you greater control over your hospital healthcare, allowing you to securely access parts of your health records.

This means information is available in real time and as a patient you should only have to tell your information once, no matter how many clinicians see you as a part of your healthcare journey with our hospital and community services.

Features for patients on the MyChart app

  • letters from your clinician to you and other healthcare professionals about you
  • test results that our clinicians have taken
  • appointments booked for you as part of the services provided by ESNEFT
  • you can message health care teams via care team pools (direct messages to clinicians is not available)
  • you can join video visits, where they are offered
  • you can provide feedback by filling in questionnaires before appointments
  • complete appointment and registration check-in before you arrive
  • you can also allow access to your MyChart account if you’d like a loved one to support you with your appointments or help manage your record
  • link with other hospitals where you are receiving care, if they also use MyChart

Your address in MyChart

Making sure we have the correct address for you is really important.

If you need to update your address please note that any changes require review and approval by our teams before they’re applied to your health record.

To help us make sure your address is entered correctly, it must align with the way Royal Mail has your address documented. For example the area where you live may be called something different locally, to its official listing.

If you’re unsure, you can check your address on the Royal Mail website (opens in a new tab)

Please make sure that your GP practice also has your updated address. If your GP record is not updated, any changes made in MyChart may be overwritten during routine updates.

How we are using MyChart to improve your experience with ESNEFT hospitals and community services for patients

  • it helps us prevent empty appointment gaps
  • it allows you to book certain appointments yourself and not need to wait for our teams to do it for you
  • you can register for your appointment before you arrive, which can help save time
  • the message function means you can contact our care teams reducing the need to phone for advice and appointment information
  • staff can add comments to results to help you understand medical information
  • less reliance on paper letters, information goes straight into the app and quicker to you
  • improved documentation process, meaning better quality time in clinic so you can talk about what really matters to you and your clinician
  • a helpdesk is available for you when you need further support
