How to protect yourself from MyChart scams and fraud

We want to reassure you that there has been no change to how ESNEFT contacts you through MyChart. We are sharing this information to help you stay safe online.

Scammers will, however, sometimes use the MyChart name or logo to make emails, text messages, phone calls and websites appear genuine. They may try to:

  • steal your login details
  • ask for payment information
  • request verification codes
  • offer “free gifts” or prizes
  • direct you to fake websites

if something doesn’t feel right, stop and check before responding.

How to recognise genuine ESNEFT MyChart communications

Our official MyChart website is https://mychart.esneft.nhs.uk.

If you receive MyChart notifications from ESNEFT, they will come from our the email address, shown below.

Official MyChart email address: ‘your ESNEFT care team at no-reply@esneft.nhs.uk’

If you need support with your MyChart account, contact our official helpdesk email.

How to protect yourself

Check the sender and website address carefully before clicking links or entering information, carefully check the sender’s email address and the website URL. Scammers often use addresses that look like genuine ones but contain small spelling mistakes or extra words.

When in doubt, contact us If you are unsure whether a message is genuine, do not click any links or enter any information. Contact the MyChart helpdesk for advice.

Protect your password and verification codes ESNEFT, Epic and MyChart will never ask for your password or verification codes by email, text message or phone call. These should only ever be entered directly into the MyChart website or app.

Be cautious of free offers messages claiming you have won a prize or can receive a free gift, such as a first aid kit, are likely to be scams. MyChart does not run giveaways.

If you think you have been targeted

If you believe you may have responded to a scam message:

  • report the email as spam or junk in your email provider
  • change your MyChart password immediately
  • review the contact information held within your MyChart account
  • contact the ESNEFT MyChart helpdesk for support
