About this service

Who comes to the Children’s Elective Care Unit (CECU) at ESNEFT?

You will bring your child to CECU at Colchester and Ipswich hospitals when they need to attend hospital for a medical or surgical procedure.

Your child may be admitted for a “day case” operation (they should go home the same day), or they may be admitted for surgery and need to stay in hospital.

Our hospitals have dedicated areas for the care of child patients and there are indoor and outdoor play areas.
