I have been working in Colchester since 2014 following completion of speciality training in Paediatrics with a specialist interest in neonatal medicine in the east of England deanery.
My time is divided between the general paediatric and neonatal services. I have a baby clinic for children under 2 and a general paediatric clinic for children under 16. I also have a clinic for babies who are discharged from the neonatal unit on home oxygen.

I have been a consultant paediatrician since January 2023 and formally joined the ESNEFT team in September 2023.
My initial training interest was in High Dependency Care within paediatrics and as part of this I looked after many extremely unwell children with Epilepsy. I also have an interest in the mental health of young people and work closely with our in-house psychology support services.
Since joining ESNEFT I have been appointed to develop specialist skills in Epilepsy and am currently undergoing additional training to provide the best service I can to those with Epilepsy.

As a Consultant paediatrician, I work in general paediatrics on the ward and in clinics with a wide range of patients. I work on the Neonatal Unit and have regular baby clinics. My special interests are paediatric endocrinology and diabetes.
A range of specialist endocrine investigations can be carried out and I see and follow up a number of endocrine patients. Ipswich Hospital’s Paediatric Diabetes team has recently expanded with increased funding.

I trained in London, where I was fortunate to gain experience in a variety of hospitals. I then transferred to East of England for the final two years of my training.
I work at Colchester for my final registrar year, and then was appointed as a Consultant in 2015. As well as my clinical work I have interests in medical education, simulation and teach NLS and APLS.

I have been a consultant paediatrician since 2014. My training and early consultant years focused on critically sick children and neonates, and then I developed an interest in paediatric palliative care and complex neurodisability.
Many of my patients have epilepsy as part of their conditions, and so I broadened my expertise in 2021 and started to work in the paediatric epilepsy service.

I am Consultant Paediatrician with special interest in neurodisability and epilepsy. I also work with children with neurodevelopmental or neurobehavioural disorders.
I joined the paediatric team at Colchester in 2021. I had held previous consultant appointments at Northampton General Hospital where I was the lead for the neuromuscular and Botulinum injection clinics. In West Suffolk Foundation Trust I was the lead for the movement disorder clinic . My post-graduate training was in the East of England Deanery and I completed my SPIN neurology training in Addenbrookes and GOSH.

I have worked at Ipswich since April 2001. I am a Neonatal life support and European paediatric life support instructor. I have been Neonatal clinical lead since 2005.
I work in general paediatrics, specialising in neonatal medicine, haematology including sickle cell, thalassaemia and hereditary spherocytosis. I also support patients with cystic fibrosis.

In my role of Consultant Paediatrician with Neurodisability interest, I aim to deliver the highest standard of care to young people and their families experiencing complex neurodevelopmental problems. I have a passion for championing the rights of children with neurodisability, their access to education, medical services and above all to experience happy and fulfilling lives. I also have a strong interest in evidence-based medicine and want to better serve the speciality with opportunities of earlier intervention and scientific base.
I have set up a translational research centre The Synapse Centre for Neurodevelopment ESNEFT (East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust). The centre is looking to translate biomedical research into practical therapies for local children and their families with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual disability and Genetic syndromes. The Synapse Centre seeks to be at the forefront of new era of research seeking to investigate the effects of microbiome / gut-brain axis, immune-metabolism and functional genomics that can impact on brain development. The centre will target innovative new strategies of database acquisition and phenotyping through biomarkers and biometric data.
I also lecture at Anglia Ruskin University and have a strong interest in education having completed a PGCME.
I joined ESNEFT in March 2019.

I am Consultant Paediatrician with special interest in epilepsy.
I completed my postgraduate training in London and Eastern Region and epilepsy training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital , Cambridge and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
I have been a consultant since 2012 and I have been employed by ESNEFT on the Colchester site since 2013.
As a service we take actively part in the regional Eastern Paediatric Epilepsy Network (EPEN) and the National Epilepsy 12 Audit. We have regular outreach clinics led by Dr Deepa Krishnakumar, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist from Addenbrookes Hospital. We also hold formal MDT transition clinics to support the move to adult services.

I joined Ipswich Hospital in October 2017. I completed my general paediatric training in the East of England. I completed my SPIN epilepsy training in Addenbrookes and GOSH.
I currently manage children with complex epilepsy and neurological conditions. In addition I provide general paediatric and neonatal cover as part of my role.

From 2000-2016 I was an honorary consultant in paediatric allergy at Evelina Children’s Hospital
I specialise in the following conditions in children: asthma; Cystic Fibrosis; other paediatric respiratory conditions (e.g. bronchiectasis, TB); primary immunodeficiency; difficult asthma; allergic disorders (including anaphylaxis); chronic urticaria.
I qualified from the University of Southampton Medical School in 1984 and have worked in paediatrics at several London teaching hospitals, including Royal Brompton, St George’s, St Thomas’s, Guys and King’s.


Andrea Turner

I qualified as a doctor from Cambridge University in 1990 and completed my paediatric and paediatric nephrology training in South Thames (Guy’s and Lewisham Hospitals as well as some time as a junior doctor in Colchester).
I have worked as a Consultant paediatrician in Colchester since 2004. My outpatient clinics include general paediatrics and paediatric nephrology, in which I see children with a wide range of kidney and bladder problems. I also do a joint clinic for children with complex bladder problems and wetting together with our Children’s Urology Nurse Specialist.
In addition I work on the Children’s Ward, Children’s Assessment Unit and Neonatal Unit and cover all general paediatric problems and emergencies as part of this work.
