Welcome to ESNEFT Community Diabetes (North East Essex Diabetes Service – NEEDS)
We are a consultant-led diabetes specialist team, here to support all adults (16+ years) living with diabetes in the North East Essex area. We are committed to providing high standards of care for ALL adults with diabetes.
How we do this:
- work in partnership with local NHS GP surgeries
- offer regular specialist community clinics, antenatal diabetes care and diabetes foot care (referral via health professional if criteria are met)
- work closely with Therapy for You for mental health wellbeing Visit the Therapy for You website for emotional and psychological support (Opens in a new window)
- work closely with Essex Wellbeing for physical health and social needs to enable better health Visit the Essex Wellbeing website for wellbeing support (Opens in a new window)
- support our regular patient forums, which offer a chance to connect with other people living with diabetes, local diabetes health professionals and have a patient voice in how local diabetes services are shaped
- provide diabetes education and information sessions for people with diabetes, anyone with diabetes can self-refer for diabetes education on our diabetes patient education page
- NEE health professionals
- actively participate in research relevant to diabetes
