Endometriosis clinic
The Endometriosis clinic at Colchester Hospital
Endometriosis is where cells like those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body. It can have a big impact on your life, but there are treatments that can help.
It is important to support overall health and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This includes balanced nutrition and regular physical activity. Adequate sleep and looking after your mental wellbeing is also important. Making small, sustainable changes can significantly improve long-term health outcomes.

Your appointment
Appointments either in person or by telephone. If you have a telephone appointment and an examination is required, we will ask you to attend the clinic in person. This will be at a later date, where you will be assessed by a member of the team. They will discuss your medical history and carry out a gynaecological exam if needed. The team will then work together with you to discuss the next steps. If the team determines that your needs would be better addressed within the general gynaecology clinic, they will refer you to the appropriate team for ongoing care.
Please see below useful resources which you may find helpful for more support while you await your appointment.
