Skin Camouflage

Skin camouflage clinic at Ipswich Hospital

The skin camouflage clinic is run by Allison Weston, maxillofacial and plastic surgery nurse specialist/surgical practitioner.

In the clinic you will learn how to apply specific make-up and techniques to colour and cover scars or  skin conditions in a relaxed and informal consultation.

The skin camouflage clinic is held in the Dermatology and Plastic Surgery department at Ipswich Hospital once a month.  The clinic is open to any patient receiving care from ESNEFT – including those in the community or at Colchester Hospital.

Skin camouflage can benefit you if you have certain skin conditions, for example birth marks, surgical wounds, acne marks or self-harm scars.  It can also benefit you if you have had a skin graft or skin surgery that you would like to camouflage.

Skin camouflage can recreate stubble on a chin, disguise small hair loss areas and hide radiotherapy tattoos and scars.  It can help you to move on from previous medical treatments and help you to feel less self-conscious.

Please mention the skin camouflage service to your clinician if you feel this can help you in any way.
