Acute Medicine

We assess adult patients with many conditions including:

• chest infections
• heart attacks
• urine infections
• falls
• heart failure
• confusion
• drug dependency and overdose

Typically, your GP will refer you to us when your condition can no longer be managed by them or by community services, or when they need our specialist advice.

We also see patients who are referred to us by the Emergency Department.

You will be assessed by a team of health professionals in order to reach a diagnosis and offer you a treatment plan either as an inpatient or in the community.
