New lead governor appointed

A former nurse with experience of caring for others and volunteering has been appointed as lead governor at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

Helen Rose, who is currently serving her second term as a public governor in the “rest of Suffolk” constituency, was elected unanimously to the role on Thursday (2 September) for a period of one year.

Helen brings with her a wealth of experience in healthcare and the voluntary sector, having trained as a nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. She has also worked as manager of a Citizens’ Advice Bureau and as chief officer for a community health council, which represented NHS patients and supported volunteers to monitor local hospitals.

Helen has previously served as a governor at a foundation trust in the north of England for nine years and is a member of her GP surgery’s patient participation group.

ESNEFT’s council of governors represents the interests of its members and the public. For more information about its work read our Council of Governors page.
