New home for Ipswich Orthotics department

The Orthotics department at Ipswich Hospital is relocating to the MSK Physiotherapy Outpatient department from Monday 17 January.

The change will see the service move to a newly refurbished clinic room. Patients will continue using entrance 6 while entrance 5 is temporarily closed, and will be asked to let staff know they have arrived for their appointment using the self check-in kiosks.

Patients who need equipment such as braces and callipers repairing will be able to leave them in an equipment bin in the MSK corridor for collection, in turn saving them from visiting reception.

The move is taking place to allow Ophthalmology to expand into clinic K, where Orthotics is currently based.

Patients will be told where to go and how to check in when they are sent appointment letters, while signage around the building is also being updated.
