Mobile treatment unit works continue at Ipswich Hospital

Mobile treatment units at Ipswich Hospital are on the move and we apologise for some disruption to a patient car park.

There are currently two mobile units outside the Trauma and Orthopaedic department at the south end of the hospital (pictured). The units have been helping us to deliver our interventional radiology service to patients.

There are currently two mobile units outside the Trauma and Orthopaedic department at the south end of the hospital.

A new replacement unit is now sited in car park F (the patient car park outside the main outpatients block, pictured) where there is close access to the hospital outpatients’ department. One of the units from the south end will be moving to join it in car park F overnight on Friday, and the remaining unit at the south end will be taken off site.

A small number of parking spaces are unavailable but there remains plenty of patient parking areas on site. Our teams are working through plans to make sure disruption is as limited as possible and we apologise for the inconvenience.

Traffic in the car park and the footpath will be diverted to keep everyone safe.

The area outside the Trauma and Orthopaedic department is being redeveloped as part of the creation of a new Urgent Treatment Centre and Emergency Department at the hospital. The mobile units will be on site for some time to keep the clinical service running safely, and we are moving the units to make sure these works can start on time.

You may also notice some cranes and lorries at work on the hospital site on Saturday and Sunday as medical scanning equipment is delivered. Disruption will be kept to a minimum.
