Steel modular units, which will be used to build a new urgent treatment centre (UTC) at Clacton Hospital, are due to arrive next week.

ESNEFT is working with MTX Contracts Ltd on the project to create a new, two-storey extension, which will eventually house the UTC.

The next stage of the construction process will see 51 steel modules craned into position on the hospital site ahead of installation work and fitting out.

This process will be staggered between Monday, 28 July and Friday, 8 August.

The £25million project is the latest phase in a multi-million-pound upgrade to make sure patients using Clacton Hospital receive high quality healthcare in state-of-the-art facilities.

Works will be in daytime hours only. There will be no weekend construction work.

Typically, seven deliveries will be made each day (Monday to Friday) starting at around 7am. The second delivery will be around 10am and the remaining loads will be equally spaced throughout the day. Deliveries will finish by 4pm in line with the vehicles’ movement order.

Delivery vehicles will drive up Tower Road and bear left onto Freeland Road before turning immediately left again into the site and up to the crane position. This will be between the Estates department and Ivy Benson House.

The deliveries and crane operation are not expected to cause any more disturbance than traditional construction work. Any increases in noise will not be heard outside the hours of delivery.

We apologise in advance if this work causes any inconvenience to our neighbours.
