Community equipment and wheelchair services is currently between the West Suffolk Hospital and Medequip.
Ross Care carry out wheelchair repairs and maintenance to NHS supplied wheelchairs.
The assessment, referral and handover element of the service is part of Community Services.
For wheelchair users in Ipswich and East Suffolk, there is a single telephone contact number (01473 351 805) which enables you to contact the service both for repairs or assessments.

Clacton Hospital
Wheelchair services transferred to this hospital in November 2018 as part of the closure of Essex County Hospital.
We also visit other hospitals, patient’s homes, residential homes, nursing homes, schools and workplaces.

Wheelchair services
We provide wheelchairs and other equipment to help people be as mobile as possible.
Our service will assess your needs to make sure you get the right help. We will look at your physical and mental health and the support you have from family, friends and carers. We will consider where you live and your daily transport needs.
We can provide a wide range of mobility support. This includes buggies and manual and powered wheelchairs. We also provide equipment to help with postural support and pressure care.
