I qualified at the Bart’s & London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2004. Following most of my junior doctor medical rotations in Essex and Suffolk I was appointed to the Geriatric Medicine Specialty programme in the East of England Deanery.
I also undertook a year of sub-specialist training for stroke medicine at Southend University Hospital. I completed my training in 2014. I worked at West Suffolk Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and at Southend University Hospital at the start of my Consultant career before deciding to settle at Ipswich hospital.
I look after patients who have suffered a stroke and those with general medical problems.
I joined the stroke team at Ipswich Hospital in October 2012, working out of Shotley Ward where hyperacute and acute stroke services are provided. The RAPIDS clinic allows Consultants to see TIA referrals seven days a week.
We are looking to consolidate our position in the region to drive up the quality of the service provided for Suffolk residents providing a complete stroke pathway in keeping with the National Stroke Strategy and Stroke Improvement National Audit Programme (SINAP).
I have worked for the Trust since 2013. I am a full-time Consultant Stroke Physician. I am also a Consultant Physician in Geriatric and General Medicine. Previously, I have worked as a Consultant in Ipswich (2009-2013), Malaysia (2006-2009) and Warwick (2004-2006).
I did my specialist registrar training in NE London and Oxford Deaneries. I obtained my MD doctorate degree from University of Bath; MSc degree in Geriatric Medicine (Distinction) from Keele University and MB, BCh, BAO (Hons) medical degree from Ireland.
I have worked for the Trust since October 2008.
I specialise in Stroke Medicine, General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
