Heart rhythm checks at Ipswich Hospital

Ipswich Hospital is taking part in a pilot project to check the heart rhythm of people who are at a higher risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF). The aim is to identify cases of undiagnosed AF so that treatment can begin, in turn reducing people’s chances of developing complications.

The pilot project is being run by NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk and NHS West Suffolk clinical commissioning groups.
