Urology

Colchester Hospital

I trained at Oxford and Cambridge Universities before graduating from the Edinburgh urology rotation in 2004. I deal with all conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, prostate and genitalia in men, women and children.

I founded the Colchester stone unit in 2004, introducing laser stone surgery and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (keyhole surgery) for larger, complex cases. I developed particular expertise in surgery for enlarged prostates, including HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate), proven to be more effective than traditional prostate operations.

I regularly teach the procedure to other surgeons throughout the UK and abroad. I am also one of the Colchester cancer surgeons, treating prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer and kidney cancer. I specialise in complex renal surgery, including laparoscopic (keyhole) nephrectomy and laparoscopic pyeloplasty.

I see female patients with general urological problems as well as children with paediatric urological conditions requiring both medical and surgical management.
