I am dual accredited in renal medicine and general internal medicine. I am clinical lead for renal transplantation within the Ipswich Hospital Renal Unit which includes long-term care of renal transplant patients, renal transplant assessment and live donor assessment.
I am also interested in pre-dialysis care. I have special interest in renal transplantation, hypertension and cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease.

I have worked for the Trust since 2015, covering illnesses including blood in urine, going to urinate often, high PSA, stones, large prostates and prostate cancer. I have worked at the Royal Free London, Guys Hospital, Royal Marsden and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
I trained at the North London Urology Higher Surgical Training School, Royal Postgraduate Medical School and at University College London Medical School.

Aniket Deshpande

I have worked for the Trust since 2019. I have a special interest in managing urological cancers. I am trained in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
I provide general Urology services for male lower urinary tract symptoms and perform surgical treatment such as TURP and HoLEP (laser surgery for prostate). I also perform daycase endoscopic and inguinoscrotal procedures.
I am the Clinical Lead for Governance at the Colchester site. I am Clinical Lead for day-case TURBT service at Colchester.

I trained in urology in Oxford. I have been an NHS consultant since 2003. I spent 13 years in Portsmouth and 4 years in Bury St Edmunds before joining Colchester Hospital. My specialist interest is the management of kidney stones. I have published over 50 peer reviewed papers as well as numerous book chapters and magazine articles in urology.
I served for 22 years in the Army Reserve as a regimental medical officer, which included a deployment to Afghanistan as a trauma surgeon in 2011. I am also a published military author and historian.

I have worked as Renal Specialist in Greece and the UK since 2004.
I trained at Hippokratio University Hospital in Thessaloniki and at King’s College Hospital, London.

I qualified as a doctor at St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1998 and became a member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001.
I completed urological higher surgical training in Cambridge / Essex, and a Fellowship in Stone Surgery and Endourology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.
I was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2010. As a stone surgery specialist, I am particularly interested in minimally invasive procedures using a ‘keyhole’ approach.

I trained at Oxford and Cambridge Universities before graduating from the Edinburgh urology rotation in 2004. I deal with all conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, prostate and genitalia in men, women and children.
I founded the Colchester stone unit in 2004, introducing laser stone surgery and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (keyhole surgery) for larger, complex cases. I developed particular expertise in surgery for enlarged prostates, including HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate), proven to be more effective than traditional prostate operations.
I regularly teach the procedure to other surgeons throughout the UK and abroad. I am also one of the Colchester cancer surgeons, treating prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer and kidney cancer. I specialise in complex renal surgery, including laparoscopic (keyhole) nephrectomy and laparoscopic pyeloplasty.
I see female patients with general urological problems as well as children with paediatric urological conditions requiring both medical and surgical management.

I undertook research into prostate cancer at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, Oxford. I trained in Urology in Cambridge and Norwich. I was appointed at Ipswich Hospital in 2012.
I undertake a wide range of general urological procedures. My specialist interests are:

- surgery for benign prostatic enlargement (including Urolift)
- female bladder problems
- vasectomy reversal
- paediatric urology
