Your first appointment with the skin cancer service at Ipswich Hospital

While you are waiting for your first appointment, you can contact the new appointments team to make enquiries. If a skin lesion is getting significantly bigger, please see your GP who can ask the hospital to bring forward your appointment.

The dermatology/plastic surgery department is in the North Zone of Ipswich Hospital, entrance 15. The most convenient place to park if you are coming to the department by car is in car park G.

If you are a blue badge holder, there are some disabled parking spaces near entrance 15.

We recommend you bring a friend or relative with you to the appointment to drive you home afterwards.

Your initial consultation should be friendly and informative. Our reception team will book you in on arrival and ask you whether the contact details we have for you are still correct. You will be asked to take a seat in the waiting area.

Any delay in appointment times will be explained to you by the nurse supporting your consultant.
