Have your say on young person’s asthma care in east Suffolk and north Essex

A short survey is now live to find out more about the experiences of parents and guardians of young people with asthma

The Healthwatch Essex and Healthwatch Suffolk survey is the first stage of a programme reviewing specialist asthma care across east Suffolk and north Essex.

The Healthwatch teams want to hear what currently works well for services. The survey is also an opportunity for participants to share their ideas of how young people can have better support to manage asthma conditions.

Andy Yacoub, CEO, Healthwatch Suffolk, and Sam Glover, CEO, Healthwatch Essex, said “NHS consultants and leaders want to find out what else can be done to support children and young people to manage their asthma at home and avoid the risk of needing hospital care. This might include how families are supported to identify asthma risks or to manage the condition, and how current support available from local services can be improved.”

If you need help to participate in the survey, please call FREEPHONE 0800 448 8234 to speak with the Healthwatch Suffolk team. They can support you to complete the survey over the telephone, or provide alternative survey formats on request.

Along with the survey, Healthwatch Suffolk are offering families an opportunity to sign up for an informal interview about their experiences of asthma care.
