Restarting urgent and clinically necessary work


A message to all patients from Nick Hulme, Chief Executive of ESNEFT

We all understand that this has been an anxious and unsettling time for everyone and that you may feel worried about coming to the hospital. We understand this and want to give you as much information as possible to ensure you feel safe and able to attend your appointment with us.

At our hospitals and services we have introduced a number of changes to make sure that we can continue to provide safe, compassionate and high quality care for those people who need it.

All of these changes are designed to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We will be using personal protective equipment and social distancing to continue to keep you safe. You will notice changes across the hospital, such as lines down the corridors and less seating in waiting areas. The people you meet may well be wearing face masks, goggles, gloves and aprons. This is to ensure everyone’s safety.

Making these changes is even more important as we start to carry out surgery for our patients who have waited for the longest time. Our hospitals and services are having additional cleaning every day and staff are trained in minimising the risk of infection as much as possible.
