Eye surgery leaflets

 

On the day of your eye operation

 

If you are unwell on the day of your operation please contact the Ophthalmic Day Care Unit on 01473 702 007 as soon as possible.

Before you leave home, please put eye drops into your eye(s).

The nurse will have given you the drops at your pre-admission visit.

 

The drop(s) will:

  • sting
  • dilate (enlarge) your pupil

and

  • blur your vision

 

You must NOT drive yourself to or from the hospital.

Please bring all your medication, inhalers and eye drops with you.

After your eye operation

If you need further advice after you have left hospital please contact one of the following telephone numbers:

Ophthalmic Day Care Unit

01473 702 007 (Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm).

Ophthalmic Triage Nurse

01473 703 178 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).
