Patients need to book Colchester Hospital and PCC blood tests using online system

We have made changes to our blood clinics at Colchester Hospital and the Primary Care Centre (PCC) on Turner Road. This is to protect our patients and staff during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and to make sure social distancing can be maintained in our clinics.

From 8 December patients need to book blood test appointments using an online booking system. Relatives and carers can make the bookings on a patient’s behalf. The clinics will no longer be walk-ins, but there will be more appointments available.

If you are unable to use the online system, call your GP surgery (if you blood test request is from your GP) or your hospital outpatient clinic (if your blood test referral is from the clinic team) for help booking.

The blood clinic at the PCC will now open, by appointment, from 7.15am to 4pm, Monday to Wednesday and 8am to 4pm Thursday and Friday. The blood clinic at Colchester Hospital is open 8.15am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Book a blood clinic appointment at the PCC or Colchester Hospital (you can register now and book appointments from Tuesday), or visit the ESNEFT website and search for ‘blood tests’.

People who have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19), including a new continuous cough and / or raised temperature, and / or a loss or change in sense of smell / taste should not visit our clinics. They should stay at home and book a Coronavirus (COVID-19) test. Patients who are currently self-isolating should also not attend.

The changes bring the booking system into alignment with the system at Ipswich Hospital and the Landseer Road clinic, run by ESNEFT.
